Supporting your maternity journey while growing your family & career

Supporting your maternity journey while growing your family & career

The impending joy of welcoming a new child is often coupled with concern about the impact maternity leave will have on your career progression.

You might have caught yourself with thoughts like:

How will I juggle being a present mom and an impactful leader?

What if my time away from work affects my chance of a promotion?

Will I be able to keep up with the frenetic pace when I return to work?

What if, instead,
your maternity leave could be

an empowering experience?

AS SEEN ON

Meet your coaches & fierce advocates for gender equality

We’re Jen and Sonja, two impact-driven and heart-centred executive leaders with a combined 30+ years of experience leading in public, private and non-profit organizations. We’re also mothers who found ourselves unprepared—and frankly, overwhelmed—when journeying into and out of maternity as we started our own families.

Aside from the physical recovery and the realities of being trapped at home by infant sleep schedules, there was the emotional toll. Realizing every post-natal activity was focused on the experience of the baby and not the mother, we saw a big gap.

We both craved a community of career-minded women passionate about growing their families and their careers, and we wanted this kind of support in one place.

Unable to find such an offering—and having both worked in the gender-equity space—we knew creating a community for mothers during this pivotal time in their personal and professional lives was critical if we were ever to make meaningful headway on the gender gap.

Maturn is shifting the narrative and support systems around maternity leave in Canada so that more women can continue to advance in their careers and retain positions of leadership with greater support from employers, partners and like-minded mothers along the way.

We look forward to welcoming you into the Maturn community.

“Maturn has been a centering and grounding foundation supporting my transition into my maternity leave with my first child. Thoughtfully run with openness and empathy, it has helped me prepare for change in a way that honours my past, present and future selves. Being able to focus on showing up as a mother and leader before, during and after maternity leave is a gift for me, my family and my company. Maturn has provided the best support for this transition and is a unique offering to people who want to thrive in career and parenthood.”

“My experience with the Maturn program has exceeded my expectations.  The modules are informative, comprehensive, and thought-provoking.  I wish I had access to Maturn before and during my first maternity leave as I was unprepared for what was ahead and the return to work was extremely challenging. Maturn provides a safe place full of compassion for participants to openly discuss their struggles and help provide them with coaching and tools to work through them. This has helped me feel like I am not alone and failing as a mother.
